Prophet Ilyas
Sent to the people of Baalbek (in modern Lebanon) who worshipped the idol Ba'l. He called them to abandon idolatry and worship Allah alone.
Calling Bani Israel Back
Ilyas was sent to the people of Baalbek (in modern-day Lebanon) who had begun worshipping an idol called Ba'l while abandoning Allah. He courageously confronted them, calling them to return to the worship of Allah alone.
“And indeed, Ilyas was from among the messengers. When he said to his people, 'Will you not fear Allah? Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators?'”
Rejection and Legacy
The majority of his people rejected him, and only a few believed. Despite this, Allah praised him and granted peace upon him and his legacy. His steadfastness in the face of widespread idolatry is a model for all who call to truth in hostile environments.
“Peace upon Ilyas. Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.”
