Successor of Ilyas

Al-Yasa continued the mission of Ilyas among the Israelites. He is mentioned in the Quran among the righteous and the outstanding, placed alongside prophets of the highest caliber. While detailed accounts of his life are limited in Islamic sources, his inclusion in the Quran affirms his prophethood and righteousness.

Quran 38:48

وَاذْكُرْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَالْيَسَعَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ ۖ وَكُلٌّ مِّنَ الْأَخْيَارِ

“And remember Ismail, Al-Yasa, and Dhul-Kifl — and all are among the outstanding.”

Quran 6:86

وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَالْيَسَعَ وَيُونُسَ وَلُوطًا ۚ وَكُلًّا فَضَّلْنَا عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ

“And Ismail, Al-Yasa, Yunus, and Lut — and all [of them] We preferred over the worlds.”
